I love the snow and how it makes the world seem so calm and serene, the muted colours of the snow covered landscape in contrast to the sky and hedgerows always catch my eye and beg to be painted….
Sunrise Snowscape is a painting filled with the vibrant colour of sunrise early on a Sunday morning, it had started to snow late the night before (I woke my daughter and went out for a snowball fight at 12.30 on the Saturday night!)
The contrast of the orange sky with the pale cliff tops was wonderful and the moment I returned home from the walk I started to paint this magical scene
