From my school days I have always loved this Island and watched eagerly for it from the train window and now far too many years later I am still drawn to it and always enjoy my time when I go sketching and painting it, even if it is very very early!

This painting has layers of lush oil paint applied with my palette knives in thick sweeps, I love the way that this creates texture and depth while the colour of the paint stays vibrant and seems to sing brightly
