Changing Lands – An Exhibition of Recent works Open on Thursday 1st November @ 7pm and runs  until Monday 13th November 2019

Changing Lands is a pivotal exhibition for me as I move away from brushes and indulge my new found passion for the palette knife, the textural opportunities and lush sweeps of colour seem to echo  my interest in the changing sweeping nature of our Landscape with the constantly shifting weather and light….

I will be showing a selection of these recent oil paintings in Gallery Intermarium in Cabinteely, Co.Dublin

Rolling Harvest my new colour for Curator Paints

Last night I was delighted to attend the Launch of a whole new up market range of Irish paints from the people behind colour Trend..

Curator Paints

“On the journey between Ireland’s castles and cottages, you will encounter a quiet legion of dedicated craftspeople, artists and designers. For each they have a colour that means something special to them; that unlocks the natural world around them. As the custodian of these colours, Curator is proud to display this stunning Irish Design Collection, a beautiful collaboration of native art and design for your home. There has never been a collection quite like Curator.”

I was honoured to be asked to help develop my own colour in the range based on colours in my paintings..
ROLLING HARVEST is the resulting colour echoing the scorched grasses of harvest fields as well as hinting at the sandy colours of the Wexford beaches surrounding me…
I Exhibited a large canvas of Curracloe beach on the Night to showcase my colour…

RED MOON JULY 2018

I was really excited about last nights Red Moon and Lunar eclipse but rain clouds and sea mist rolled in and robbed me of my viewing of this spectacle but I kept hoping and checked a number of times…each time nothing to see, not even a hazy glow until my last check when I saw the fully risen full moon with some wisps of clouds… so I misted the exciting bits!

I thought of last year when I sat out in the garden looking out to sea to view a meteor shower, which had about 3 shooting stars and just as I was giving up , a blood red moon began to rise over the horizon and lit up the sky and was a most amazing sight to behold… at the time I was inspired to  paint a series of paintings, and I went hunting for them and found this little gem -Red Moon rises 2

That cheered me up a little bit…….. click on the link above to see more or to buy 🙂

Summer Sizzlers – A Heatwave Collection

After the long winter and the snows ( which I loved) with their amazing monotone palette of whites the recent blue skies and scorched colours have been a true inspiration to me…

I have revealed in the vivid blue skies, emerald greens and how the beautiful scorched earthy tones of yellow ochre, burnt sienna – what a beautiful range of colours to behold and then the amazing sunset skies filled with flaming oranges and reds set against blues and purples or delicate wisps of pinks, mauves against soft blues

Wherever I look the landscape screams summer, the fields that are normally shades of lush green look like they belong in a Portuguese landscape, beaches seem to glow golden and the sea is like a mirror reflecting it all back…

The Beast from the East

Loving the moody skies and snow flurries of this snow storm.. I went for a walk along the Cliffs wtih the dog and I had a great time watching the weather sweeping in from the sea and chasing across the fields heading inland.. not as much snow as I wanted but it is so cold!
When I got back from my freezing walk and after a large mug of hot coffee I had to paint this small oil on canvas painting 20 x 20 x 4 cm… feeling very inspired!
